Our Beliefs: Why be a Christian?

Would you like a life that is perfect? With no problems, worries or difficulties ever again? Who wouldn't? Unfortunately that life doesn't exist.

But would you like to know that no matter where you are or what you're going through, there is a source of support, love, peace and freedom from guilt?

That's why Jesus said, "Come to me if you're tired and weighed down and I will give you rest."

The Bible says that Jesus offers this comfort to us now, for the rest of our life and beyond. If we will accept the relationship he offers to us, Jesus will remove what stands between us and God, and no matter how bad we've been, like the thief on the cross beside him we will have the promise of Heaven.

To have this for ourselves all we need to do is pray. You may want to use this prayer: 'Thank you, Jesus, for dying on the cross. Thank you, Jesus, that I can come to you now because you are alive. I admit that I have lived my life without you, and that I have broken your laws. I commit myself to you and I ask for your forgiveness. I receive you into my life by your Holy Spirit. Help me to submit my life to your teaching and to your direction from this moment on. Amen.'
