Our Meetings & Activities
Here is a description of what you can get involved in at Chesterton
Church. To find out the exact dates for what's happening this month,
please go to the diary
section.
Sunday Services: 10.30am (Communion) and 6.30pm
(Family Service)
As a church, we hold regular services
to which all are welcome. These consist of informal but sincere
worship, a message from the Bible with a practical or encouraging
theme, and prayer afterwards for anyone who would like it.
Tea and biscuits are served after the Sunday evening service, and
many people stay to chat and make friends. So if you're in the area,
do come along - we'd love to meet you.
Youth Club: Mondays 7.30pm
Run by Fred, this Club is for children from 8 - 12 years old, although
older children keep on attending the club. Activities include: snooker,
table tennis, karaoke, discos, 5-a-side football, walks, ice skating
and swimming. Occasionally there is a speaker to talk to the children
about issues such as drugs. The club has now been running for 10
years.
Prayer Meeting: Tuesdays 7.30pm
The emphasis is on praying for others
- for friends, family, our local area, our country and leaders,
and for other nations around the world.
Open Door: Alternate Wednesdays 2.00pm
These afternoons are a time when the church building is open for
people to drop in, have a cup of tea and a chat. This club is generally
for older people, to provide company, prayer and tell jokes! Joyce
presides over things, and sometimes a trip is organised. Recent
trips were to Ironbridge and Liverpool docks.
5.45 Club: Thursdays 5.45 - 6.45pm
Run by Paul, this is a club for 6 - 11 year olds. It provides an
opportunity for team games, activities and for the children to see
that the church is relevant to their lives.
Bible Study: Alternate Thursdays 7.30pm
Informal and informative! There is a small amount of teaching,
and lots of open discussion. Feel free to ask the questions you
always wanted to ask about the Bible..!
Guitar Lessons: Alternate Fridays 7.30pm
See the Guitar Section
for more information and to tune your guitar!
